Before you send your belongings to your new home or office, you need to carefully prepare them for transportation. Otherwise, there is a possibility that they may become damaged and become unsuitable for further use.
– When transporting printed materials (books or magazines), they must be packed in special BookBoxes. They are equipped with a reinforced bottom and walls, since the books are very heavy. Books must be well packed so that they cannot move inside the box during transportation (sharp edges of book covers can damage the packaging). However, do not overload the box as this may cause the bottom to fall out.
– To transport a TV and screen in the absence of special boxes for them, you need bubble wrap, with which the entire device is wrapped in several layers. After this, you should cover the screen and the back with a sheet of cardboard (you can cut out a regular box), and then secure the structure with tape.
– If you need to move thin and easily breakable items (mirrors, stained glass windows, glass cabinet doors) from office to office or to a new home, then you will need several different materials to pack them. For fragile items, first wrap them in bubble wrap (or a blanket if you don’t have that), then wrap them in cardboard and place them in a shipping box.
– In order not to damage lighting fixtures (lamps, chandeliers, bedside lamps and sconces) when moving a house, you need to remove the shades from them and screw in all the light bulbs. Lampshades are wrapped in bubble wrap or several layers of multi-ply paper towels. The base of the chandelier or lamp is also wrapped in bubble wrap, and the edges are carefully sealed with tape. The lamps are packed in a cardboard box with a soft bottom (you can put a blanket), and the spaces between them are filled with cotton wool, newspaper, paper, clothing and fabric.
– The aquarium must be moved empty, and the fish must be transplanted into a separate container with a closed lid. The aquarium is packed with bubble wrap not only outside, but also inside. Then, like on TV, it is covered with cardboard and secured with tape. It is not recommended to install other boxes in the aquarium.
– It is better to transport flowers in the interior of a furniture car, or in a separate van. In order not to damage tall plants, it is better to pack them in homemade boxes at the height of the flower (from cardboard boxes). Be sure to line the space between the box and the pot with soft material.
